TSWG Board Members 4th Annual Gathering 2011 Indiana

Mindy King has held two consecutive terms of two years each as Vice President and will be stepping down. Bill Brick has served one two year term and is up for re-election and Nancy Rafal and Bill Morse are to be replaced as Members-at-Large after serving their two year terms.

A big THANK YOU goes out from the entire membership for all the hard work and dedication you’ve put into the organization to help us grow and prosper. Thanks for perpetuating this fine craft of chair caning and chair seat weaving!

TSWG Restores Lincoln Cane Rocker for Old World Wisconsin

Besides demonstrating various kinds of chair seat weaving techniques our members will also be reweaving the cane seat and back on a Lincoln rocker for the Old World Wisconsin museum.

Very much in keeping with our mission and purpose, which is to educate the public about the craft and to perpetuate it so these techniques are not lost to future generations.

Drive safely and hope to see you all there in Eagle, WI at Old World Wisconsin. This is a public tourist attraction, so even if you are not a member attending our Gathering, you can still partake of all the fun stuff we are doing with and for the visitors!

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on May 15, 2012 awarded us the status and the board and general membership are pretty excited about the designation.
