TSWG 5th Annual Gathering Info Posted

The promotional flyer, registration form and accommodations listings for the 5th Annual Gathering of The SeatWeavers’ Guild, Inc. at Old World Wisconsin (OWW) in Eagle, WI have been posted to the website and you are all encouraged to fill them out as soon as possible.

Old World Wisconsin is a busy tourist area and accommodations fill fast, so register, fill out your membership and get your motel or other lodgings arranged now so you don’t miss out.

This proves to be another great experience for the public as well as our members, since we are demonstrating various types of chair seat weaving, holding a cane trivet weaving class and will be reweaving a very special Lincoln rocker for the museum at OWW.

Then too, there are the regular member events; Meet ‘n Greet, Workshops, Annual Meeting and Dinner and much, much more! See the Membership page to send in your membership dues for 2012-2013 by June 31st for the 2012-2013 membership year so you can attend all the Member’s Only events.

Tom Holtkamp TSWG founding member passes away

It’s with a sad and heavy heart that we report that our founding member and past board member, Tom Holtkamp from Noblesville, Indiana passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012.

Tom was the backbone and fiber of our group, very knowledgable about setting up organizations and guided us through establishing TSWG, setting the by-laws, incorporating our guild, and filing for our non-profit 501(c3) status. He was gracious and sharing with his knowledge too of chair seat weaving in all its forms and was a frequent demonstrator at our annual Gatherings.

We are so thankful to Tom and his lovely wife Sarah for providing the venue for our 4th Annual Gathering right there in Tom’s hometown of Noblesville at the fairgrounds and to open his home for the Friday night Meet ‘n Greet for the members attending the Gathering.
